What: We ask guys to answer our Safer Sex Survey (Behavioral Risk Assessment) and tell us about the sex they have. It's anonymous, confidential, and often juicy! It's a great way to help the community and engage in fun and interesting sex talk. We provide them with info and safer sex supplies, and tell folks where to get tested but NEVER tell people what to do, how to do it, or who to do it with.
Why: We do this to find out who we are as Black men who have sex with men. Kinds of sex, sexual locations, sexual histories, behaviors, drug use, std knowledge, etc. are all areas in which we are interested. In the end, we are able to provide services, programming, information, etc. that better suit Black men in SF.
When: We hit up the late-night clubbin’ crowd. If you are a night owl, then weekday outreach shifts may work for you. If you are a 9-5er, Friday would be a great night to pitch in. |
